The Malossi Ø 20x24 inclined intake manifold is an essential component for the proper functioning of the engine. This intake manifold allows the entry of the air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber through the reed valve.

The overall performance of the engine depends on various factors, including volumetric, thermodynamic, and mechanical efficiency. Volumetric efficiency represents the ratio between the amount of mixture entering the combustion chamber and the engine displacement.

One of the main factors that affects volumetric efficiency is friction loss that occurs along the path of the mixture, from the air filter to the combustion chamber. The intake manifold plays a fundamental role in minimizing these losses, allowing the fluid to pass through it without obstacles.

In addition, the intake manifold acts as a reservoir for the fresh charge, allowing the mixture to accumulate and compress against the reeds when the reed valve closes.

The intake manifold also serves to connect the carburetor to the engine crankcase or cylinder, reducing vibrations transmitted from the crankcase to the carburetor and preventing the emulsion of fuel and air in the carburetor float bowl.

Malossi technicians have carefully studied this component to fully exploit all its qualities. Malossi, with its extensive experience in the field of engine fuel systems, has developed a new line of rubber and aluminum alloy manifolds for the next generation scooters. These manifolds have been tested and developed by the Malossi research department, both on the road and on race circuits.

Malossi rubber manifolds feature a composite structure, with an aluminum insert embedded in a plastic material resistant to oils and fuels. This construction ensures considerable rigidity in the mounting base to the crankcase and good elasticity of the manifold body.
